Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 December 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Fried (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the Fried mobile application (“the app”) and visit friedapp.com (“the site”).
Fried is a tiny burnout app. It is intentionally simple: no accounts, no daily streaks and no complicated profiles. We also aim to keep our data practices simple and respectful.
1. Who we are
Fried is an independent software project operated from Australia. You can contact us at hello@friedapp.com.
2. What the app does (in plain language)
The Fried app shows you short written “resets” about burnout and work stress. You open the app, pick how much time you have, read two screens, and close it again. That’s it.
3. Information we do not collect through the app
When you use the Fried app on your device, we do not:
- ask you to create an account or log in;
- ask for your name, email address or phone number inside the app;
- track your mood over time or store a history of which resets you opened;
- use in-app advertising SDKs or third-party tracking SDKs.
If this ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and the in-app copy to make it very clear what is new, what we collect and why.
4. Information that may be processed automatically
Even with a minimal app, some technical information may be processed by platforms we rely on. Examples include:
-
App Store analytics
Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated statistics such as number of installs, uninstall rates, crashes and generic device information (for example device model, OS version and country). This data helps us understand whether the app is working and where to fix bugs. -
Crash and performance reports
If you choose to share crash data with developers via your device settings, Apple may send us anonymised crash logs so we can see where the app failed and improve stability.
We do not receive information from these tools that directly identifies you as an individual.
5. When you contact us
If you email us or contact us through any other channel:
- we will see the information you choose to provide (for example your name, email address and message);
- we use this information only to respond to you and keep a small record of support or feedback history;
- we do not sell or rent this information to anyone.
6. Cookies and website analytics
As of the last update, friedapp.com is a simple marketing site without login or forums. We may use basic privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages are most useful, and where visitors are coming from in general.
If we add analytics that use cookies or similar technologies in the future, we will update this section and, where required, provide a cookie notice or consent banner.
7. How we use information
Where we do receive data, we use it only for purposes such as:
- keeping the app running and fixing bugs;
- understanding which features people use so we can improve them;
- responding to support questions and feedback;
- meeting our legal, accounting and compliance obligations.
8. Legal bases (for users in the EU/UK)
For people in the European Union or United Kingdom, we process limited personal data (for example emails you send us) based on:
- Legitimate interests – such as running and improving the app and replying to messages;
- Consent – where you choose to contact us or opt in to any updates.
9. Data retention
We keep data only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, or as long as we are required to keep it by law. For example, support emails may be retained for a period so we can refer back to previous conversations.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including secure hosting and limiting access to people who need it for their work on Fried. No app or website can guarantee perfect security, but we do our best to keep things locked down and minimal.
11. Children’s privacy
Fried is designed for adults dealing with work-related stress. It is not aimed at children. If you are under the age where you can legally consent to apps like this in your country, please use Fried only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:
- accessing information we hold about you;
- asking us to correct inaccurate information;
- asking us to delete certain information;
- objecting to or restricting certain types of processing.
If you want to exercise any of these rights, email hello@friedapp.com and we’ll do our best to help, subject to applicable law.
13. Third-party links
The app or site may link to other websites (for example, the App Store or support articles). We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, so please check their policies if you click through.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. When we make changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top, and in the case of major changes we may also highlight them within the app or on the site.
